Context

Context from Richard Young on Vimeo.

The first draft of an aerial shot of the Westfield Centre. This sequence follows the an initial sequence that passes through the Shepherd's Bush area at eye level. This is to give an overall picture of the Westfield Centre in context in the year of 2015, when the Westfield Centre was at its peak, prior to the downfall and deterioration of the Shepherd's Bush area and Westfield.

Non-Space

This shot will represent the psychological condition a retail non-space such as the Westfield Centre can induce. It is the intermediate/transient space that is passed through before the reaching the reality of Wastefield.

The Gateway to Wastefield

This will be turned into a 2.5D shot moving into the corridor

Escapism Scene 02

The base for the next stage on the deterioration of the consumers mind. A utopian world that begins to transform into non space.

Escapism Scene 01

These two shots will provide the base for two photoshop edits.
Both of these will form the entry sequence into the escapist consumer environment that psychologically runs parallel with the Westfield Centre environment.

Duality of Retail Environments

From the tutorial today the clarity of the narrative needs to be refined. Rather than concentrating so much on a character study, that focused on the internal desires and conflicts of his mind, the focus will now try to illustrate the spatial environments that induces such conflicts.

The process of influencing a consumers mind will still play an important part within the film but will represent mechanism that transport/transfer the consumer to various spatial environments such and virtual spaces, viral spaces and alternatives to the physically rigorous and opressive nature of retail spaces such as the Westfield Centre.

Cut 02

The second cut through the Wastefield Centre was taken through the production and retail spaces. The following graphics illustrate how the mechanism of the billboard facade relay the polemic of the Wastefield Centre.
